Meet our newest team member
London, UK — August 08, 2024 — We are thrilled to welcome Dr. George Abrahams as the newest member of our Engineering team, taking on the role of our Embedded Software Engineer.
George has a PhD in Medical Robotics from King's College London and has published in top-tier conferences and journals, including ICRA and Soft Robotics, collaborated extensively with IBM, and been granted an international patent for his research. He was the founding software engineer for the robotic colonoscope, MorphGI, developing the robot from proof of concept to pre-clinical trials. George was also the project manager and lead engineer for the surgical endoscopy robot, microDART, and collaborated with Ericsson and China Mobile to develop its tele-operational capabilities over 5G. The microDART has garnered international attention, having been demonstrated at prestigious events in India, China, Spain, and England, including to the late Queen, and featured in the Financial Times, BBC, and more.
With nearly two decades of experience in programming and a wealth of expertise in robotics, computer vision, and artificial intelligence, George brings a significant depth of knowledge to our team. He will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and testing the critical low-level software that will drive our next-generation robotic platform.
‘I'm excited to join the Panda Surgical team at this transformative stage in their journey. I look forward to contributing to a platform with unparalleled capabilities which will empower neurosurgeons to make life-saving interventions.’
