Panda Surgical appoints Craig Marshall as Chairman of the Board
London, UK — August 12th, 2026 – Panda Surgical, developer of handheld robots for minimally invasive neurosurgery, today announced the appointment of Craig Marshall as Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective 16th of July 2026. Craig joined the Board as an independent non-executive director in October 2025 and now steps up to lead it as the company advances toward first-in-human clinical evaluation and commercialisation.
A recognised leader in medical technology, Craig brings more than 25 years of experience building and scaling global technology organisations. Most recently, as the former Chief Executive Officer of OrganOx, the Oxford University spinout which has transformed liver transplantation, he steered the company from pre-revenue to its $1.5B acquisition by Japanese listed MedTech company, the Terumo Corporation. Before joining OrganOx in 2016, Craig spent six years at Siemens as managing director of Siemens Magnet Technology and an executive member of the Siemens Healthcare MRI business. His earlier career spans leadership roles across the in vivo diagnostics sector at Oxford Instruments, Amersham Plc and GE Healthcare. In addition to his role at Panda Surgical, Craig sits on the boards of 2 other UK-based MedTech companies as an independent NED whilst also acting as a Venture Partner at Amadeus Capital Partners.
"Since Craig joined our Board, his advice has been instrumental in sharpening our strategy and de-risking the path ahead," said Manios Dimitrakakis, CEO and co-founder of Panda Surgical. "As we prepare to scale, having a Chairman who has taken a university spinout all the way from pre-revenue to a landmark exit gives us enormous confidence. I am delighted he has agreed to lead the Board through this next chapter."
On his elevation to Chairman, Craig said: "I am delighted to have been trusted with the role of Chairman of the Board at Panda Surgical. From my time at OrganOx I have first-hand experience of the impact the Chair can have in shaping the destiny of a company. I hope to leverage this experience as I work with Manios to ensure Panda Surgical achieves its goal to ensure many more patients benefit from life-saving minimally invasive robotic neurosurgery.”
Craig brings valuable expertise in all stages of medical device commercialisation, from preclinical to profit. At Panda Surgical, strategic oversight will help support the company's next phase of growth, as it works to bring a new generation of robotic tools to minimally invasive neurosurgery.
